Owing to network problems the free poplog web site at the
University of Birmingham
http://www.cs.bham.ac.uk/research/poplog/
has been inaccessible for most of yesterday and today (30-31 December
2004).
Like most UK universities, ours will be officially shut till 4th Jan,
so
there is no guarantee that the internet connection will be fixed before
5th Jan, alas. If we are lucky someone will fix it (late last night
service was restored, but it failed again this morning at 10am).
This means that email to pop-forum or poplog-dev will not work, and
downloading from the web site will be impossible until the network
problems are fixed.
Some of the facilities may be accessible at www.poplog.org, but that
no longer provides a full mirror service.
In the meantime: I have fixed the following:
a. The default keybindings for XVed have not worked properly in
the bham linux poplog installation for some time, and I have now
tracked this down and can send a replacement file for
$poplocal/local/setup/Poplib/vedinit.p
if anyone wants it.
b. I have updated the unix_sockets library to take account of the
change
made to linux poplog several months ago on account of the 'errno'
mechanism no longer being supported on linux.
I can send a replacement file for $usepop/pop/lib/lib/unix_sockets.p
if anyone needs it.
For either of the above email me at aaron_sloman a t yahoo.co.uk
I hope normal service will be resumed soon, and apologise for any
inconvenience.
Aaron
