This is a plea to anyone posting to pop-forum using more than one
address.
Please put 'pop-forum' in the To: line and *everything* else in the Cc:
line (as I have done), even if you are replying to another poster.
That's because if there is more than one thing on the To: line the
'mail-to-news' gateway software gets confused, and I have to spend time
sorting out the resulting mess (extracting the proper message from a
'Bounce' message and forwarding it).
It also cannot cope if the pop-forum address is in the Cc: line. It must
be on the To: line.
I'll see if I can get someone to fix all this locally, but I am not
optimistic. So please remember: just 'pop-forum@cs.bham.ac.uk'
on the To: line.
As I am so busy and unable to keep up with other things, I regret that I
shall just have to stop dealing with the bounced messages, and such
mssages will not be forwarded.
Another plea: *please* do not send messages in both plain text and html
as a number of people have done recently (though it may not be visible
in all mail readers, since many simply display only one of the two
versions). Just send plain text only.
If your mailer can't do that then try mozilla mail: it runs on many
platforms and can be set to send text only.
Also, please try not to re-send long stretches of previous messages:
send only the bits you are commenting on.
There are many online discussions of the evils of 'top posting'. E.g.

Thanks for your help.
