I don't know of any tutorials. The only case-studies I am aware of
are:
1. Clementine: a data-mining package developed in poplog by ISL,
which become so successful that SPSS bought ISL in order to get
Clementine and then re-implemented it in Java and C++ (I think).
See
http://www.spss.com/clementine/
2. Andy Pryke (http://www.cs.bham.ac.uk/~anp) wrote a PhD thesis
here in Birmingham in 1998:
Data Mining using Genetic Algorithms and Interactive
Visualsation,
which was implemented partly in pop11 in Poplog. The thesis is
available online in a PDF file
http://www.cs.bham.ac.uk/~anp/data_mining_using_genetic_algorithms_and_interactive_visualisation_andy_pryke_phd_thesis.pdf
(About 4 MB).
I don't know if that's of any use as a tutorial, but if you can find
a tutorial on how to do data-mining in any language and you are
familiar with one or more of the poplog languages you should be able
to use the ideas of the tutorial in poplog.
